Darkborn canceled as developers cancel project

Darkborn

Canceled games are always a pain for those hoping to play them. It appears that yet another video game has felt this sting. Darkborn, the game that the developer has been working on for some time. The company pushed the project through various iterations, but it’s now been shut down. The video game with monsters and blood went through a lot of changes, and it’s kind of sad to see it get shelved.

Developers The Outsiders has now announced that the game has been canceled. The game had a very intriguing build-up. It was revealed to IGN via some rather promising gameplay footage. The core of the gameplay looked like a fusion of horror and bloody combat that put the players in the middle of a horrifying war.

“You yourself are an innocent caught up in a much larger conflict between Powers, the specifics of which become clearer in the course of the game,” project lead David Goldfarb told IGN. “It’s a classic revenge story, but also a mystery: what happened to the world and your people? Can they be saved?”

There has been very little news released about Darkborn for some time now, so this was always coming if you were really paying attention. The developer has teased that they are working on something new, but that means that the work on Darkborn has to be thrown out. We don’t know mu8ch about this new project yet, expect more news soon though. The Outsiders calls it “something awesome”.

“In spite of our best efforts to continue, ultimately we had to make the difficult decision to halt development on the project,” the studio stated. “Perhaps one day we will return to it: we all hope so and genuinely appreciate the support of everyone who followed us over the years.”
