Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ next update adds garden shop, art seller, and more

Animal Crossing: New Horizons April 23 Patch

Nintendo has just announced that the newest update for the new Switch version of Animal Crossing will drop this week. The patch brings in a bunch of bug fixes and other minor changes. The big new changes are that a set of new in-game events are headed to your islands. Expect plenty of new tasks and rewards as part of these themed events that run through April and May.

Aside from that though, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons April 23 patch will also implement some new NPCs to pal around with. Lief the sloth and Redd the fox head this new band of friends. Lief loves gardening and opens up new growth via new gameplay mechanics. Redd will allow the player to grab unique treasure and furniture when he spawns on your island. There is even a new retailer being brought in with the new NPCs, a full garden shop. Now you can buy any plants and trees that you want to populate your island with. This is a huge boon to those playing solo, as not having online play locks off a ton of different resources and features.

And since Redd is bringing new furniture and other items, you might be wondering what they look like. The theme of some of these pieces is incredibly sophisticated, and can be seen in the tweet below, check it out. Your islands will be quite prim and proper.

You can see a trailer for the Animal Crossing: New Horizons April 23 update down below.

Here is a quick rundown of some of the new events coming to the game.

International Museum Day

The first of the new events added with the Animal Crossing: New Horizons April 23 update will be a full-fledged tour of island museum, allowing users to show off their art and creativity. By going around to various islands during the event, which runs from May 18 to 31, you can collect stamps for various museum exhibits that can be placed on your own island.

Other events are of course planned for the game before and after this. Museum Day is just one of the events, followed by Nature Day.

Nature Day

The Nature Day celebrates the real-world Earth Day holiday, which commemorates efforts and struggles to preserve the environment and keep people healthy and enjoying the beautiful earth we all inhabit. Nature Day celebrations run from April 23 to May 4. The big bonus for the event is that you’re being encouraged to go out and improve your islands through various tasks. Players will get a big buff to Nook Miles if they are a Nook Miles+ member during the event. There are also limited-time Nature Day activities you need to complete, which you can find in your Nook Phone under the Nook Miles+ application.
