How to get Berenger’s Memory in Destiny 2 – Best Rolls

How to get Berenger’s Memory in Destiny 2

Heavy weapons like the Grenade Launchers are some of the best weapons in Destiny 2 when dealing with large numbers of mobs. They can also apply plenty of damage to bosses, making them very popular among many players. This month fans got a new rabbit to chase with the introduction of another new Grenade Launcher, the Berenger’s Memory. This fast-firing weapon of war can be made into a god-tier weapon with the right rolls. Here’s how to farm for it.

How to get Berenger’s Memory

Along with the likes of the Ikelos SMG, this new weapon just dropped into the game. In the lead-up to the Beyond Light expansion, Bungie is trickling in new weapons along with the Exodus-Focused Umbral Engrams to give players something new to grind for. To get these Engrams, you want to focus on Zavala’s Exodus: Preparation questline. You will get an Exodus-Focused Umbral Engram for each Weekly Bounty completed. You can also grind out CQC-Focused and the Assassin-Focused Umbral Engrams to unlock this weapon.

You will need 100 Altered Energy apiece to transfer your Umbral Engrams into the Assassin-Focused variety to get either the Ikelos or Berenger’s Memory. This will give you the best chance at getting the Grenade Launcher as the loot pool from this Engram is very small. Although you can just crack Umbral Engrams directly, the vast loot pool means that there will be much more farming involved as you have a smaller chance of getting a certain weapon.

What rolls are best for it?

  • Smart Drift Control
  • Spike Grenades
  • Clown Cartridge or Field Prep
  • Auto-Loading Holster

Let’s face it, grenade launchers are really terrible in PvP in Destiny 2. So, we’re not even going to bother with a PvP roll, and instead focus on PvE, as that’s where you will be using this weapon. Your ideal use case for this weapon is to have a large pool of ammo and to fire it as quickly as possible. With a PvE focus, Spike Grenades is a must-have option. This will mean you will have to be more accurate, as the damage boost only applies on direct hits, but it’s worth it overall.

Smart Drift Control will help with this since it gives a solid boost to Velocity, Handling, Recoil, and Stability.

The next perk you should focus on is getting either Clown Cartridge or Field Prep. The first of these is great for having more ammo to use. Field Prep also grants better reload time that can make smaller magazines a bit better. However, most players will instead opt for the more ammo choice. Combine this with Auto-Loading Holster to make the Berenger’s Memory into a rapid-firing nightmare that can deal with many bosses and mob packs in short order.

And even though it doesn’t possess the powerful Full Court perk to boost grenade damage, Berenger’s Memory still packs a punch. It offers a great platform for most fights and has a surprising amount of range.
