How to simulate games and seasons in Football Manager 2022

Football Manager 2022

A lot of things have changed this year, compared to previous years. There’s still a ton of minutia to manage, as players have to handle game-days, roster changes and so much more. Football Manager 2022 has changed a lot, and frankly, for the good. One of the more useful improvements for some players is a much better menu system. The simulation aspects have also been refined, making it easy to simulate entire careers, if you want.

To do this, select the date on the main menu. You will need to scroll up to get there. Once you have selected it, various options will appear. Scroll to the bottom to find the Go on vacation option. This is the way that the game offers simulation options in different chunks. You can set a certain amount of time to let Football Manager 2022 do its thing, from one week to a number of years.

Fair warning, this will leave every decision for your teams up to the AI. That means players won’t have control over how to respond to player events, as well as granular control over in-game decisions. If you’re the kind of player that tries to micro their team on the field, this may not be the choice for you.

You can often alter settings to make the AI more palpable though, mainly by telling it to respect your previous decisions. Do this by looking at the screen that pops up after selecting your vacation period.

There are many different options on this screen that are helpful to the player. You can set a preferred match strategy, auto-reject new team deals, and more. To make the AI respect your roster, you need to look for the right box. Now find and just check the box labeled “Use current team selection when possible.”
