In Abandon Ship you take command of a ship and her crew, exploring a diverse, procedurally generated world and engaging enemy vessels in tactical combat. The game focuses on “Age of Sail” ships in a Fantasy setting, framed in an Art Style inspired by classic Naval Oil Paintings.
As expected, the gameplay of Abandon Ship focuses heavily on sailing-based combat. Throughout the course of the 7-10 hour game runs you’ll face everything from pirates, adverse weather, even krakens and other monsters of the deep. Through your journey across the seas, you’ll need to repair and upgrade you ship to keep your head above water as the challenge ratchets up. There are plenty of weapons and upgrade choices as well, so you’re not lacking for variety.
“There is also a separate mode that focuses on Combat and takes about 30-40 minutes to play through,” so says the game’s Steam blurb—before pointing us towards this Early Access roadmap.
