Fortnite brings back Trios LTM mode for a special event

Fortnite Brings Back Trios

Great news Fortnite fans, a great game mode is coming back to the most popular Battle Royale title around. Announced via Twitter earlier today, it turns out that Epic wants to celebrate the Lunar New Year, along with many other game companies. The main way in which the company is ringing in the Chinese New Year is to bring back some old favorites in terms of content and game modes for one last hurrah.

The Trios LTM mode has been in the game before, and fans loved it. It’s still a standard game mode, meaning it shares all the rules and qualifications with any other major game mode like Solos, Duos, and Squads. But Trios, as the name implies, needs three players on a team in order for that team to enter queues. It’s a great system for smaller player groups that can’t find a fourth, and it makes sense that it should be in the game given all the other common options for queuing solo or with groups.

But it’s not just a returning game mode that has players of this particular game very excited. If last year’s event was any indication, Fortnite players are in for a few other surprises. Last year’s event saw all editions of Fortnite discounted by 50%. Save the World players got four Lunar New Year Heroes and a bunch of Dragon weapons, while the game world was also updated with themed shrines with hidden treasure troves.

So while it remains to be seen what other events populate this year’s Lunar New Year events in Fortnite, fans and new players should be excited.
