Langrisser Mobile is live

Langrisser Mobile is out right now

Fans who have been eagerly awaiting the call of the holy sword need wait no longer, as the fight between light and dark is currently underway. Langrisser Mobile has arrived via Google Play and the Apple App Store, allowing players to create their own legends on El Sallia.

A bit of background on the series, for those who may not be aware. Langrisser originally had five main entries on consoles such as the Super NES, Sega Saturn, and Sega Genesis. Several titles were also released on PC, and, despite being quite a popular franchise, only the first title of the series was officially localized into English as Warsong for the Sega Genesis. That noted, the other games have received fan translations, allowing players to play through the story. Langrisser Mobile follows the fifth game in the series.

Langrisser Mobile preserves the gameplay of the original titles while also offering up new features and adaptations that have been created especially for mobile devices. Langrisser, as some may know, is one of the first titles to adopt real-time player-versus-player in the tactical turn-based combat genre. It also features a built-in character relationship algorithm combined with a delicate Japanese art style, which, the developers claim, serves to enhance the game experience.

The game features a customizable battle experience thanks to features such as class suppression, terrain effects, and unique class trees. This mobile version also offers up voice acting and an original score by Noriyuki Iwadare, the composer for the original series.

EXTREME Co. currently holds the copyright of the classic series, and Langrisser Mobile aims to hearken back to the iconic series. It combines strategy and role-playing gameplay with a class transfer system, soldier system, and also boasts stunning battle effects. It was originally announced late in 2018, and both the official website and Facebook fan page were quickly swarmed by fans supporting the project.
