Dragon Ball FighterZ Kefla DLC and new battle mode coming

Dragon Ball FighterZ Kefla Gameplay

Bandai Namco has released a bunch of details surrounding the next batch of post-launch content for Dragon Ball FighterZ. In addition to a new fighter, there are some major gameplay changes coming as well. New gameplay mechanics could seriously alter the meta-game, and there’s a new fighter, Kefla to learn as well.

The newest roster addition coming to the fighting game is Kefla, Kefla is the first character in this round of post-launch content for the game, pulled from the universe of Dragon Ball Super to make the leap to Dragon Ball FighterZ. Being from the expanded universes and timelines arc of the anime, Kefla is a powerful fighter from Universe 6. This new combatant is actually the Potara fusion of Caulifla and Kale, a powerful technique that previously created Vegito and many other powerful fighters in DBZ and Super.

The fused character has previously appeared in Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle.  Check out the character in action in the gameplay trailer below.

The new fusion will be followed by Ultra Instinct Goku, although after that is anyone’s guess as to who else joins the fighting game roster.

The Dragon Ball FighterZ Training mode will also be revamped in the new update. Completing challenges and Set Ranks within the revamped mode will reward players with new cosmetic rewards. Also, expect some other gameplay changes coming with the introduction of Z Assist Select and Limit Break Super Power.

Limit Break Super Power is a new tactical shift in the meta-game where the player with the last remaining fighter on their team is pushed into a unique state with a massive buff to their raw power on offense. This could be used tactically to shift the balance of a match in favor of a player lagging behind. Z Assist Select is another new mechanic that allows each character to combo with other team members in new ways. Each character has three different Assist Attacks to choose from.
