CONTROL is free on the Epic Games Store until June 17, 2021

Remedy’s Control

CONTROL is a beautifully trippy shooter with a ton of flash. It may be one of the prettiest shooters of this generation. There’s a very good reason why it’s being used as part of many a PC gaming test for graphical power. It’s been around since 2019 on various consoles and PC, and just recently landed on the Switch as a cloud-based game.

You can get the game for free now too. The shooter will be free on the Epic Games Store from June 10, until June 17 at 11:00 AM EST. This version of the game is the base edition, so it may not have all the content you know if you bought the game recently. But if you have someone in mind who hasn’t played it, this is a great way for them to get an awesome game for free.

The gameplay is built around a very dynamic environment that takes the third-person shooter elements to a much more chaotic level. Players will be involved in fighting supernatural forces, all while uncovering some dark and sinister secrets. You can use unique powers to alter the landscape and solve puzzles, all while the incredible lighting engine brings the world alive. Can you beat back the Bureau and uncover its true intentions? Find out.

CONTROL also includes mini-challenges and other levels to extend the playtime. It’s a rather engaging experience, and it’s well worth the price normally. Who can argue with a free pricetag? No one. And when the developer describes it as an “expansive and intensely gratifying gameplay experience,” I find it hard to argue.
