Dragon Quest Builders 2 is finally getting a western localization of Dragon Quest Builders 2: Destruction God Malroth and the Empty Island. Square Enix released the game back in December 2018 in Japan, and now it has finally come to North America and beyond.
The game places the player into the role of a legendary adventurer known as a Builder. This Builder must fight back against a fun-slaying force of invaders by doing what they do best, building. With incredibly streamlined building mechanics from the first game, the sequel offers plenty of improvements. For example, players can now build underwater and customize their villages and the stuff within them to an incredible degree.
The game is available both on the PS4 and Switch, featuring a fair graphical upgrade from the first game. The gameplay has also been given a bit of attention that makes the new video game feel a lot more like Minecraft fused with Dragon Quest, it actually looks really good.
The PS4 version is online-only, while the Switch console supports both local and online multiplayer. Either console allows up to four players to build, farm and explore together. So you and a bunch of your friends can create your ideal anime-esque fantasy land right now. The game also offers a bit of the RPG feel from the source material that birthed the spin-off, so that’s cool.
The adventure and building title is out now for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. And you can take a look at the newest trailer for the game down below.
