Bandai Namco teases new SD Gundam G Generation game

SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays Announced

Bandai Namco has revealed a bit about a new Gundam game. Thsi time we’re getting another new crossover RPG style game with a lot of extra bits. No official gameplay was revealed, but based on the prerendered scenes in the teaser and the precedent of the previous titles, it seems pretty easy to guess what’s in store.

For the uninitiated Gundam games can be very complex and intimidating, but not for the reasons you might think. One could be forgiven for thinking the simple premise of gigantic robotic warfare would be simple to explain, but games based on the Gundam property are often as obtuse and impenetrable to noobies as the variety of anime made for the property.

The SD Gundam games often mix RPG and strategy elements with little lead-in. This means new players can sometimes struggle to grasp them at first, but the depth isn’t so overwhelming, so a bit of time is all a brand new player needs to be piloting giant robots with ease.

Check out the short little teaser for the teaser for SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays down below. No platforms have been revealed as of yet, but we can make some guesses based on other games of a similar style. It wouldn’t be too surprising to see a mix of PS4, Switch and maybe even a PS Vita release for this title. Although the latter would most likely not make the jump from Japan to internationally territories.
