Lost Ark is a fantasy MMO, and it has it’s own unique quirks. Being a major timesink similar to other Korean MMOs, there are a ton of interwoven systems to deal with. There are obviously both PvE and PvP options to fool around with. But before you jump into the deep end, it can’t hurt to learn some basics. This guide will answer one common question, how do you leave a dungeon in Lost Ark. Let’s get started. Chaos Dungeons are the first endgame activity you will encounter in the game, and they can be pretty tough.
There are plenty of other things to learn about Lost Ark beyond this simple stuff. Strongholds that act as bases for crafting, seem to have some folks confused. There’s also that premium sub that some players are curious about. Doing things like dismantling gear is pretty important too. Learning how to do that can help your crafting efforts a bit. Get out there and start exploring, adventurer. Handling gear upgrades is another important aspect, mostly via Engravings and other upgrades.
How to unlock Lost Ark Chaos Dungeons
When you get to level 50, there’s going to be a lot of systems that are going to unlock in Lost Ark. Lost Ark Chaos Dungeons are one of the first, and most important ones. These special PvE zones are important for getting solid gear upgrades, so it makes sense that you need to learn how they work. To unlock Chaos Dungeons in Lost Ark, you must first reach level 50 and have reached the Vern Castle region. You need to then speak to Professor Ronatas, an NPC standing outside the Chaos Dungeon statue. They can be found to the north of the main castle area.
The basics of a Chaos Dungeon
You can enter these solo if you want to try your hand at challenging farming. But for most players, you want to get in a group of up to four players to take them on. That’s the most common group size, and can be done via PUGs or with your friends in a party. Like most MMOs, there’s a grouping system that handles the former. And once you’re in, the mechanics are very simple. Once you get into a Chaos dungeon, the idea is to fill up the Purification Meter. You are under a time limit, so you need to work fast. Take out the waves of enemies to gain purity. You need to fill the meter before you run out of time. There are multiple floors to each dungeon, with new floors opening up when the meter fills. In most cases, the next floors will open up at 20% fill, and 50% fill of the Purification Meter.
Thing is, the layouts can be very complex. The twisting maze of rooms are often filled with both monsters and magic. Players will often find boons that they can collect to power up their characters as well. These buffs can increase attack power for a short time, or make your abilities recharge faster. Also, be on the lookout for Bonus Portals. These can lead to extra rooms with special loot in them. Finally, keep in mind that more powerful enemies inhabit other Chaos Dungeons. As you increase your power and item level, you’re expected to take on higher-level dungeons.
Each entry into a Chaos Dungeon costs 50 Aura of Resonance, and you will get 100 Aura of Resonance per daily reset. Players can spend extra Resonance if they want to run the dungeon more times, but the rewards are reduced upon repeated runs.
Leaving is important too. To be able to get out, you need to do a few things. You need to once again leverage those Songs you keep hearing about. To get out of a Chaos Dungeon, you need to use the Song of Escape. Each Song is attached to the main scenario quest. The Song of Escape is part of the rewards for the Legends and Fairytales quest.
