As you get shuffled around the map fighting for the liberation of Yara in Far Cry 6, you will notice a lot of locations that you will have to come back to. You will also find many different hidden items like weapons and upgrades all over the place. With the biggest map that the franchise has ever had, there’s a huge area to explore. Far Cry 6 has a plethora of activities that you can do during that exploration as well. A lot of these side activities tie back into other missions or mechanics as well. This guide will help you find additional points of interest, military targets, hidden items and more.
As a general rule, you should explore each location as much as you can. Each major point of interest in the game will have multiple hidden clues about where to go next. You should always try to find hidden notes, posters and other in-game clues in each location you visit. After a while, you’ll be very good at spotting these clues. So even though your initial searches will be slow, you will inevitably get better.
There are a few key sites you should focus on when trying to figure out what to do next in this game.
- Bases, Military installations and AA sites often have hidden documents or “signposting”. Signposting is a way for game developers to guide player actions, and the hidden posters and documents found in these POIs is often the form that takes.
- NPCs under guard in military installations are another useful source. You can find these guys by the exclamation point over them. Take out the guards and free the prisoner to have caches and other markers added to your map.
- Thoroughly search outposts and bases for any scraps of a hidden poster or marked document. The game does a pretty good job of making these stand out, but they can be hard to find sometimes.
For all of these reasons, it’s probably a good idea to unlock fast travel ASAP. Being able to zip around the map in this game is crucial. Far Cry 6‘s world map has so many things to do that it becomes too much to remember. Being able to jump around and come back later is a huge help in keeping things organized. It’s also a good idea to talk to your guerilla buddies once in a while. The various NPCs found at outlaw bases will often have tips for you on what to do.
Find these NPCs and chat with them to have ambush missions, checkpoints and other military targets marked. You can also learn about hidden Treasure Hunts and other side missions from them. The NPCs at bases are a great way to fill out the map in each region.
