Sega has pushed out a new trailer and set of screenshots for the upcoming remaster of the early Yakuza games. This time it’s all about the masterpiece that is Yakuza 3. You can find the trailer and screenshots below.
On top of the trailer, we also get some new screenshots, and the lead artwork, showing a more youthful Kazuma Kiryu, at least when compared to later games in the series.
Yakuza 3 is the third main entry in the Yakuza series, released for the PlayStation 3 in 2009. It is developed by Sega’s CS1 Team and published by Sega. Now, Sega is releasing a 60 FPS and full 1080p HD remake for the PS4. The game will be landing in Japan on August 9, 2018, for 3,990 ¥ (roughly $37).
Yakuza 3 isn’t the only game getting the treatment, Sega is remastering the two later entries in the Kazuma Kiryu saga, namely Yakuza 4 and 5. Expect plenty of the over-the-top fist fighting, hordes of mini-games and a deep and complex story with interesting characters when Yakuza 3‘s remake lands In August, followed by Yakuza 4 in the fall and Yakuza 5 next spring.
None of them have been announced for Western release yet, but you can bet on them eventually making the jump due to the recurring popularity of the franchise.
