Yakuza 3 is the third main entry in the Yakuza series, released for the PlayStation 3 in 2009. It is developed by Sega’s CS1 Team and published by Sega. Now, Sega is releasing a 60 FPS and full 1080p HD remake for the PS4. The game will be landing in Japan on August 9, 2018, for 3,990 ¥ (roughly $37).

Yakuza 3 isn’t the only game getting the treatment, Sega is remastering the two later entries in the Kazuma Kiryu saga, namely Yakuza 4 and 5. Expect plenty of the over-the-top fist fighting, hordes of mini-games and a deep and complex story with interesting characters when Yakuza 3‘s remake lands In August, followed by Yakuza 4 in the fall and Yakuza 5 next spring.

None of them have been announced for Western release yet, but you can bet on them eventually making the jump due to the recurring popularity of the franchise.

If you haven’t checked out the Yakuza franchise, now is the best time to see what they’re all about. You can pick up Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, or you can snag a copy of Yakuza Kiwami 2, which is the remake of the 2006 video game Yakuza 2.
