Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 PS4 Remasters Announced on Famitsu

Yakuza Remakes announced on Famitsu

The popular Yakuza game franchise is getting a new lease on life on the PS4. Remakes of three games in the franchise will be released on the platform. Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 remasters were announced in this week’s issue of the Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu.

Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 were originally released in 2009, 2010, and 2013, all for PS3.

The first game in the series is already as Yakuza Kiwami, a completely rebuilt remake of the title. It features completely redone graphics structured around a new engine. It’s a decent choice for new players wanting to get into the franchise from the beginning. The second game in the series is getting the same treatment sometime in the future.

Seriously, every game should get this treatment, here’s a graphical comparison that shows just how much the Kiwami series of games have improved graphics and gameplay.

The remaster of Yakuza 3 will release in Japan on August 9th, priced at 3,990 yen. The remaster of Yakuza 4 will come in the fall, while Yakuza 5 will be released in the spring of next year. All three games will feature improved resolution and frame rate. The gameplay of the games will not be altered significantly.
