What is the release date for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity?

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has been announced by Nintendo via a new trailer. And with this new sequel to Breath of the Wild, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma says, “You’ll have to wait a bit longer.” But at the very least, we know the game is coming and we got a glimpse of it. And no, it’s not just some measly expansion pack for the other games in the series.

Players will get to do battle with hundreds of enemies within the Musou style of games, taking on tons of enemies at once. The world is in strife, and you’re going to need to fight hard to save it. The details are pretty scarce, but we can expect a stylish fighting game complete with special moves and combos aplenty at the very least. The genre could really use a shakeup after the flop that was the most recent Dynasty Warriors games.

Check out the trailer for the new sequel down below.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will continue the story of the legendary Hyrule soon. The game will release on November 20 for the Nintendo Switch, where players can take on a new battle. The Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity story is pretty cool, and looks like a whole new enemy has come to wreck Hyrule. The new game is set 100 years before Breath of the Wild, and it will see players dealing with the nonsense of another new and powerful foe.

The story will star the player taking on massive armies in some fashion, with a quick glimpse of 1 warrior versus a 1,000 person army in the new trailer. We didn’t see much else behind the game from this trailer though. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity would also get some DLC that could expand this scope. There’s some vagueness to those plans, as Nintendo hasn’t been to clear on things like that. We should expect things like new fighters and stages though, as those are pretty fitting for the genre.

Whether the new sequel will blend open-world elements like its predecessor is unknown, but at the very least fans are hopeful for some RPG-like mechanics that tie this game closer to Breath of the Wild.
