With so many crafting recipes in the game, there’s a ton of hidden stuff to find in Amazon’s New World MMO. There are a horde of different crafting disciplines in the game. Along with all of the other crafting items and disciplines in this game, various kinds of construction are possible. There are many other items you need to practice the various crafting professions, but Motes are very important. As you unlock more interesting recipes, you need more powerful ingredients. Part of that means going out into the world and finding things like Provision Crates.
But when you get into more powerful items, you will find things like rare kinds of motes and wood become much more common of a listed ingredient. There are many kinds of motes in the game, and each recipe may use different kinds. This guide will cover the best places to find Petrified wood in New World. There are many other kinds of wood, but some are much rarer. Petrified wood in New World is one of these, and there are so many more.
Where to find petrified wood in New World
If you want a fast way to find any resource, use the New World map that the community has put together. If you want to know without having to fiddle with it, keep reading.
Finding New World Petrified Wood is going to prove to be a challenge, with the currently estimated drop rate being as low as 1%, and that means it’s going to be a very rare drop. Gathering tons of Petrified Wood will mean that you also get lots of Green Wood and other drops, so at least that’s one positive from all that work. You could try increasing your Logging trade skill and stacking Logging Luck on your character’s gear, that might speed this up.
Here are the types of trees that are confirmed to drop it, although very rarely:
- Young Trees of all sizes
- Mature Trees of all sizes
- Dead Trees
- Tree Stumps
- Large Cactus
Some players are reporting that other trees have Petrified Wood, but this cannot be confirmed. If you’re likely to test it, go hunting for some T5 resources like Ironwood. Ebonscale Reach is a pretty good place to look. This region has a couple of big patches of Ironwood Trees that can be a solid source of woods of various kinds. Various Tier 5 materials like Wildwood and Barbvine can be gained from Ironwood, but we can’t find any mention of a petrified wood drop, so that’s probably not worth the effort.
