Nintendo has been really great about getting tons of first-party games and ports to their Switch console. Companies like Capcom are committing to porting various Resident Evil games to the platform, and now we’ve got another announcement of a great game getting ported to the console.
It appears that Nintendo manged to ink a deal to bring Vampyr to the Switch too. The announcement was buried in the quarterly financial report from publisher Focus Home Interactive. No further details are currently available such as a release date.
In Q3, the Group will continue to maximize the potential of the Vampyr licence. After the game’s impressive success on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, it will be Nintendo Switch’s turn to welcome the Dontnod title to reach an even wider audience.
Dontnod Entertainment has announced that they’re creating a version of the Victorian-era adventure game for the Nintendo hardware. The game launched for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One back in June, and brought a unique storyline and some interesting gameplay that I quite enjoyed. Vampyr takes place in London during the Spanish Flu outbreak in 1918, and follows Dr. Jonathan Reid as he struggles to adjust to life post-undead. The story follows the player as their choices shape the fate of the world around them. So if you’ve wanted to be a murderous vampire who lays waste to everything in their path, Vampyr is your game. And now with the Switch version you’ll be able to do that on the go.
