The Roost is coming to a free Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update

All Ordinances in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 is on the way, marking the last major update to the game. With both a free and paid update on the way, players have a ton of new customization options for their islands. With the Happy Home Paradise DLC. players will be able to place down some new paths. One such new addition is the ability to permanently place ladders in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. A big part of the new update is new ways to customize your islands and their layout. Players can make their island even work in different ways with Ordinances that do different things.

These updates also include a major set of new features for players to mess about with. The 30-minute Direct from earlier this week revealed this, and so much more. The headliner of the update is The Roost, a coffee shop owned by Brewster that will be added to the Museum. The addon comes as a nod to the previous games that had a very similar mechanic. Players will have visitors coming to the island to visit the cafe. And then there’s another NPC coming in 2.0 as well.

The other NPC being added is Kapp’n. Kapp’n has come through the towns of many previous Animal Crossing games. And he’s an explorer of sorts in ACNH as well. Instead of driving a bus, he will be putting around in a boat. Players can go on little adventures with him through that boat. The primary function is giving players another method to visit secret islands akin to Nook Islands.

You can check out the full direct down below.

The updates will both land on the same day. There’s the free 2.0 patch for all game owners. Then there’s the paid Happy Home Paradise DLC that’s part of the new NSO Expansion Pack. Buying the new NSO addon will include a free copy of the new DLC. Players also get access to other DLC and features. Anyway, back to Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0.

Both New Horizons 2.0 and the game’s new paid DLC, Happy Home Paradise, will come out on November 5, 2021.
