How to get all the Festivale items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 is on the way, marking the last major update to the game. With both a free and paid update on the way, players have a ton of new customization options for their islands. With the Happy Home Paradise DLC. players will be able to place down some new paths. One such new addition is the ability to permanently place ladders in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

A big part of the new update is new ways to customize your islands and their layout. Players can make their island even work in different ways with Ordinances that do different things. And with all of that means those who really want to make amazing five-star islands will want to place some ladders and new paths.

You’ll need to first buy a Ladder Set-Up Kit Recipe from Nook’s Cranny to build a ladder. The recipe uses a few pieces of wood, although we will have to wait for Nov. 5 for the update to drop to be sure. So in the meantime, make sure to gather some wood from trees on your islands. You can then craft the Ladder Set-Up Kit at any crafting table.

You can use these ladders on any cliff by moving next to the cliff and selecting the kit from your inventory. This item will likely be restricted from being placed too close to trees and water, so keep that in mind. Other buildable items have this restriction, so these ladders likely will too.

Normally, the only ladders in the game are the ones you can use from your inventory. But you have to carry these around, and they don’t stay placed down. With the ladders in the game now, the stairs are a little less useful. It also makes it a bit less annoying for folks to make interesting and compact paths around the place.
