With the launch of patch 6.20, Fortnite is getting access to the Fortnitemares Halloween event this year.
Epic Games showed us some of the new items, map adjustments and other things included in this patch.
In terms of new weapons and items, Battle Royale players also get their hands on a new Six Shooter weapon, with Glider Redeploy currently being tested in all game modes. There’s also a Fiend Hunter Crossbow that’s part of the event.
The other major mode, Save The World, there’s new items and other goodies being offered for players. Quickdraw Calamity is a new hero that can be earned by defeating Husks and rescuing survivors. Speaking of Save The World, it won’t be going free-to-play this year. The paid version of Fortnite is also 50% until November 6, so you can get access to this mode really easily.
Here’s just a slice of the content coming to Save the World during Fortnitemares:
- Brainiac Jonesy and Skull Ranger Ramirez (Free to Founders)
- New and returning Fortnitemares Heroes.
- Rat Rod Weapon Set
- And a few more surprises along the way…
Playground has a bunch of new distractions too, including a pirate ship minigame and tweaks to Spiky Stadium.
Speaking of the Fortnitemares event, there are a variety of new enemies and other challenges to take on all across the map. Players will encounter hordes of Cube Monsters, and will need to take them down using the new weapons they got with this patch. And that’s just the beginning.
Fortnitemares has its own set of free challenges. Complete each challenge set to unlock a new in-game cosmetic.
These are the first set of challenges:
- Destroy Cube Monsters
- Deal damage with Assault Rifles or Pistols to Cube Monsters
- Visit a Corrupted Area in different matches
- Dance at different Gargoyles
