Sega has announced that Team Sonic Racing has been delayed to May 21, 2019 in order to make it “the best game it can be,” and as a sequel to the popular 2010 racer Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed, fans were understandably excited to finally get their hands on it.
Team Sonic Racing‘s original release date was winter this year, but that’s not happening anymore. Sega was very apologetic to fans who were waiting on the game, but at least they have a good reason. The racing title just wasn’t up to snuff in terms of fun and quality, so Sega decided to give it a bit of extra time in the oven. The game will still arrive on PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, just a bit later than expected.
We understand that many fans were looking forward to a Winter release and apologise for any inconvenience caused. We’re confident that with this additional time our teams will ensure delivering an unforgettable experience that fans can enjoy for years to come.
In the meantime, you can go check out some cool gameplay footage of some of the teams in the racing game. We just hope that Sumo Digital can deliver on a great game when it finally does come around to release.
Hey guys! To make Team Sonic Racing the best game it can be, we’re giving the team extra time to work on it. Our new release date is May 21, 2019.
We know delays are no fun, but quality matters most. Thanks for your patience – we’ve got more to show you for TSR very soon!
