Today marks the first phase of 2018 updates to Elite: Dangerous with the release of the Beyond – Chapter One open beta. The beta has been hyped for weeks, and now the newest patch is finally here. A massive bug fix update also accompanies the beta. More than 1,000 different bugs and issues have been fixed.
Earlier this year, Elite’s Thargoids menace descended on Elite: Dangerous. Before long, war was waged, and despite player attempts to communicate, the conflict seems to have been escalated in the response. Starting this Autumn, the Thargoids are returning to the galaxy in Elite: Dangerous. Players have speculated about this for months now, and their worst fears were initially confirmed in a June forum announcement by Frontier Developments.
