After several teases, Bethesda Softworks has officially announced Rage 2. Of course, it’s in the form of another teaser trailer, but that’s not so bad now that the game is at least confirmed. There’s a very Mad Max feel to the whole thing, and that makes me very giddy.
The trailer doesn’t tell us too much about the game, but there’s a lot of shoot-bangs and angry shouting, so it looks like things will get interesting really quickly within the game itself. A full gameplay reveal is expected tomorrow at around 3:00pm BST so watch out for that.
This announcement comes after a series of retailer leaks that unofficially confirmed a variety of games, Rage 2 being one of them.
The first Rage, developed by id Software and released in 2011, wasn’t a hit judging by critical reaction, but there’s always been fan interest in a sequel. id Software originally worked on such a project in 2012 before a dispute with Bethesda ended their ambitions.
It will be cool to see an older brand return to the forefront, I just hope the gameplay reveal tomorrow has some more details and isn’t just marketing fluff.
