NVIDIA’s Super GPUs Are Coming To Laptops

New NVIDIA Mobility SUPER GPU

An explosive new report from WCCFTech has revealed the next generation of mobile GPUs from NVIDIA, revealing mobility-focused GPU SKUs for all the topend product lines. This means, in essence, that the company’s next-generation SUPER graphics cards are finally making the jump to laptop computers. The new line of Mobility SUPER GPU SKUs are due out this year.

This could be the first shot that NVIDIA fires in 2020, ahead of the boon for AMD that is the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series releases, both of which are reportedly powered by AMD APUs. And with AMD roaring back into profitable status and paying down debt, NVIDIA could be caught on the back foot without some help. And it looks like that help is coming.

The SUPER line itself was a direct upgrade based on the 20xx series, which offered increased performance over the 2060, 2070 and 2080 lines. NVIDIA offered the full GPUs in the SUPER line as great option for those looking at graphics cards in the $400-$700 range depending on SKU. Now,  NVIDIA has teamed up with Intel to offer a similar performance upgrade for system builders in the mobile market with the Mobility SUPER GPUs.

This new lineup in the Mobility space is being made for two reasons. One is the increased competitiveness of AMD. The other is that Intel is going to be entering the dGPU mobility market this year as well. This increased competition has led to NVIDIA pushing down their GPU pricing in some areas to offer a better dollar to performance ratio. These new Mobility SUPER GPUs will allow NVIDIA and Intel to ship high-end gaming laptops with better graphics processing in 2020. NVIDIA has also partnered with other companies, like Tencent, to develop game streaming and other technology.

Here’s the breakdown of each new Mobility SUPER GPU, as well as which existing Mobility card it will replace:
