And let’s be clear it’s not a snowman, it’s a snowboy. And it does not take as much snow to make, thankfully. When it’s winter and there is snow everywhere it’s time to get going. you’re going to have to roll the snowballs yourself, and it takes a bit of patience. Look for the two already made snowballs around your island, as you need two to make a perfect snowboy in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Note that no snowballs will spawn on your island if your airport gate is open.
The snow can be gathered into Snowballs, and you will also be gathering Snowflakes and Large Snowflakes. Both of these items, along with a few others, will tie into the new DIY recipes being added to ACNH. To unlock the recipes, you need to build perfect snowboys around your island. Here’s a quick guide on how to do that.
How to build a perfect snowboy in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Take two snowballs to a wide-open area of your island.
- Roll the first one back and forth, it needs to about the size of your character’s eyes. The size needs to be pretty spot on, so keep it around that height.
- The second snowball needs to be placed nearby and ready to roll around. Roll it until it’s slightly smaller than the first. It needs to reach around the top of the ears on your characters.
- Once both are rolled to the right size, take the smaller snowball and roll it into the larger one, a snowboy should spawn.
- The sizes can take a few tries to get right, you need to try again if you don’t immediately get the perfect snowboy when you roll the two balls together.
- And don’t worry if you mess up, you can respawn on the island and try again.
Once you have built the perfect one go up and talk to it. You will be rewarded a random DIY recipe of the 15 new ones added to the game. You can only claim one recipe a day, but can easily build as many perfect ones you like in a day. Just build a couple each day and check in on them to grab the new DIY Recipes as fast as possible.
