New Warhammer: Chaosbane trailer teases the story

Warhammer: Chaosbane - Story Trailer

Warhammer: Chaosbane is stalking its way toward release, and fans of the iconic tabletop source material are about to finally get their hands on this new ARPG.

Players can take one of four different classes through a gauntlet of blood and violence as they attempt to subvert and destroy the forces of Chaos. They won’t have an easy time of it though. Since this game is drawing on the expansive and varied Warhammer Fantasy lore, there’s a lot of material to run through. And fortunately for players of this new ARPG, that also means plenty of beasties to slay. It’s not impossible to survive, but things won’t be easy.

But if the challenge does prove to be too much, you can bring friends along. The game is actually built with co-op in mind, so you won’t steamroll the competition if you bring a buddy along, things will just be a little less grueling. If you still find that idea too easy though, the developers have some more treats and tricks in store. There’s Boss Rush mode which is effectively a gauntlet of the toughest enemies in the game, although it’s just the ones you already have beaten, so no spoilers, but this mode is intended to give extra loot for the sake of rushing through tougher enemies.

Eko Software also worked in some other interesting game modes too, there’s Expedition mode which is just endless randomly generated maps akin to the Atlas in Path of Exile. And finally there is Relic Hunt which blends with Expedition maps to create random modifiers that increase the difficulty but offer more loot.

And aside from the mountains of loot and extra game modes, there’s a deep connection to the lore here that entrenched fans will enjoy. And of course, lots and lots of Chaos-fueled fun and bloodshed. If you want to see more of that story and figure where in the grandiose timeline this all takes place, feel free to watch the trailer above.

Warhammer: Chaosbane is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on June 4.  Those who purchased the higher editions, Deluxe or Magnus, can get their hands on it a few days early on May 31st though. Sorry, no bonus for pre-ordering in terms of early play with this title.
