God Eater 3 is coming West next month, and it’s bringing with it some new systems that mark it as a significant departure compared to previous games in the franchise. As seen in the newest trailer for the game, Bandai Namco and Marvelous are building in the ability to create entirely custom avatars to play with, giving players plenty of cosmetic options.
Also shown off in the trailer is the ultra-powerful God Arc, the main weapon the player uses to deal damage. These massive blades can not only deal huge damage, but will also transform into ranged weapons of various types as the player needs them to, changing the range and damage types the player can deal to an enemy.
Players can also jump into each other’s games, with between four and eight players eligible to join in each hunt. Each player will wield their own God Arc, so things will get really chaotic and messy as you blast your way through the monstrous hordes. And you’ll need all the help you can get, as these massive monsters won’t be taken down easily. We see a rather tough battle with an enemy known as Aragami in the trailer, and assume there will be many more enemy types to take on.
As you create your ultimate fighter in God Eater 3, you also get to choose your powerful weapon. Once your battle begins, take your AI companions on hunts to hack and slash your way through endless waves of increasingly terrifying and super-strong beasts. Each of these AI compatriots have their own unique weapons and abilities which are suited to fighting certain types of enemies. Can you survive the onslaught? Find out when the game finally releases worldwide.
God Eater 3 will release on February 8, 2019 for PS4 and PC. Check out the latest trailer for the game down below.
