We’re extremely close to the full launch of Mortal Kombat 11, and with that impending launch, NetherRealm Studios has just one more roster addition to show off. The newest, and final, addition to the MK 11 roster is the exiled Lin Kuei apprentice, Frost.
This chilly badass made her debut in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. During that game she once served under Sub-Zero as an apprentice, but challenged him for leadership of their clan after Sub-Zero made peace with Scorpion. Though Frost fought hard to redeem her people from what she saw as weakness, the bold and brash warrior was defeated by her Grandmaster. After being exiled following her defeat, Frost has made efforts to become stronger to exact revenge.
Prior to the events of Mortal Kombat 11, she has become a cyborg. And her new look and body isn’t the same as the Sektor, Cyrax, Smoke, or Cyber Sub-Zero of the Lin Kuei. Only time will tell what actually happens with her story, but if I were a betting man, I would put money on her coming back for one final challenge against her old master. We might even get to see an alternate timeline where Frost led the Lin Kuei after defeating Sub-Zero.
There are two ways to unlock this special Lin Kuei warrior, either by advancing through the story mode, or by shelling out real cash to use her in battle. Specifically, players need to clear chapter four of the main story mode to unlock her as a playable fighter.
The game is due to launch on April 23rd for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. Check out the trailer showing off Frost down below.
