How to be a Confidential Informant in BitLife

How to join the Mafia in BitLife

Sometimes you get disillusioned with your current job and want to switch things up. It’s pretty hard in the real world, and it’s thankfully much easier in the mobile life sim, BitLife. Things get a lot tougher though if you’re in the mob. Yes, you can join the mafia in BitLife. If on your journey to becoming a mob boss you ever want out, the game won’t make things easy for you then either. Your old cronies will be hunting you and looking to keep you quiet. It could get you killed. And if you want to get out of the made life, you need to be careful. You need to be even more careful if you want to flip and help the cops.

To be a Confidential Informant in BitLife, you first need privileged access. And much like the real world, you need to put in the work. You need to prove you can be trusted before you get made and can be added to the crew of a given family. It’s mostly about the grind of earning enough cash to be considered indispensable. Once that happens, you’re inducted into a family. But let’s say you want to roleplay a little differently to spice things up.

If you want to turn into a snitch, open up the Occupation tab once you’re in a family, you should see an option to turn into a Confidential Informant in-game. This is a bit more involved than just swapping careers though. You would get a popup when you confirm turning rat, and the game explains to you that you have a few years to gather intel on your crew. The best way to do this is to trigger your exit process once you’re higher up in the organization, you will have access to more members and can walk away a lot cleaner that way.

You have four years of work to do, during that time you cannot get caught committing any crimes, if you do, you will lose your way out of the mob. During that time, you also need to gather intelligence on your fellow members. To gather evidence against a fellow mafia member, open your Relationships tab and look for fellow mafia members.

Gather dirt on these people to fill up the Confidential Informant progress bar on your profile, that’s the bar above your personal Notoriety. You need to fill that bar up to build a case against the family and walk away with your life.

Occasionally, your fellow members will accuse you of being a rat, this can get dangerous. You have a few choices; as you can either admit it, deny the allegation, or just kill them. You might also be able to blackmail them if you have some juicy dirt on them. Depending on how you respond to these events, you might be able to avoid suspicion. Your best hope is to not get caught, because the outcomes seem pretty random.
