In Stardew Valley’s 1.5 update, there’s a brand new area that has a ton of potential. The game has a new endgame grind with some very rare items. And of course, you can also get plenty of new items. You can get new livestock as well with ostriches in Stardew Valley. The game even added a bunch of new fruits and other crops. Tons of exotic fruits and crops, like pineapples, mangos, and bananas are also on the new island. Another new feature, aside from really useful stuff like the Fairy Dust, is enchantment. Now to get access to all of this, you need to get to Ginger Island, here’s how.
Players will be able to get access to Ginger Island by heading over to the new shop added to the main town. Willie’s shop has a big old boat in the back, and Willie needs help repairing it. Doing that is your path to the new island and all of its content. Willie’s boat has a bunch of problems, and you need to bring parts to the ship to fix it up.
Go through the back door of his shop after he sends you a letter about the new boat. Obviously, you need to have the 1.5 patch downloaded first. From there, you’re ready to begin. Once there, you get a new quest to fix the boat. You need to unlock various Community Bundles to do this as fast as possible. Once you complete the bundles from the base game’s story, Willie will send you the letter.
Here are the three objects you need to completely repair the boat and reach Ginger Island:
- Five battery packs
- 200 pieces of hardwood
- Five iridium bars
The Iridium bars can be gotten from the mines, at very deep levels. An Iridium Bar is crafted by smelting 5 Iridium Ore and 1 Coal in a Furnace. Purple Slimes in the Skull Cavern or Slime Hutch have a chance to drop Iridium Bars and Ore when slain. Shadow Shaman and Shadow Brutes can also drop an Iridium Bar when slain (0.2% chance). Iridium Bats may drop one as well (0.8% chance). Finally, you can also buy them from the Traveling Cart for a few thousand Gold.
Battery Packs are obtained from crafting Lightning Rods and waiting for a thunderstorm. The lightning strikes will charge the battery pack and you will need to check at the Rod after to pick up the Battery Pack. You need to gather You need 1 Iron Bar, 1 Refined Quartz and 5 Bat Wing to craft a Lightning Rod.
Hardwood can be gathered from any large Stumps found out in the world. If you started on the Forest farm, you also have a few. Six (6) Large Stumps respawn daily in the Secret Woods, hit those with a Copper Axe to get Hardwood, two per stump.
