Warcraft 3: Reforged is a new remaster of the RTS classic, Warcraft 3. The new version is meant as a modern recreation of the entire RTS experience for fans of the franchise. The new remaster has just debuted this week, and left some questions for new users. For example, what content are we getting with the sticker price. How many campaigns are there? Can you play offline? These questions and more are soon to be answered. Let’s start with the campaign.
The original Warcraft 3 was released in 2002, this version had four different campaign missions, covering each of the four factions. Each of these four represented a different playable faction, and each mission had it’s own self-contained story. The four factions have a campaign in the base game, each introducing new units, maps and mission objectives. And that’s all without adding in the Frozen Throne expansion. The Frozen Throne added three new campaign stories, bringing more factions to the table with all new unit rosters.
Frozen Throne does come with Warcraft 3: Reforged, so there’s no additional DLC to buy into, which is nice.
This means that for anyone who buys Warcraft 3: Reforged, you will receive access to all seven of the campaigns that encompass both the original base game and the expansion. In total there are 60 missions in the entire game. There are three different difficulty settings as well, offering a bit more challenge for seasoned RTS players.
