Games with Gold giving out Dragon Age II, QUBE 2 and more free games

Xbox December 2018 Games with Gold

Xbox Wire has unveiled the latest batch of free games which Xbox Live Gold subscribers can claim as part of the “Games With Gold” program. For December 2018, we’re getting a new mix of RPGs, action and puzzle-solving for gamers to enjoy.

This month, there’s another four games being offered throughout the course of December for Gold members to grab. Starting on December 1 and running until the end of the month, the puzzle game QUBE 2 will be made available for free. Also hitting on December 1 and lasting until the 15th is that of Dragon Age II, Bioware’s Xbox 360 sequel to 2009’s Dragon Age: Origins.

Then, starting on December 16, Never Alone, a narrative-driven indie game with a heart, can be picked up. Classic wargame Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction rounds out the list for the month. That one is a personal favorite of mine, and although I mostly experienced the PS2 version, it’s still nice to see it popping up again.

Bare in mind that these games will be available for free to download during the dates listed above, but you can keep playing them for as long as you have a valid XBL Gold subscription. So pony up that $50 a year and get yourself into some Gold right now.

For those that didn’t know, Xbox Live Gold subscribers have the option to claim free games with their subscription each month. This is of course in addition to other exclusive discounts and deals that paying gamers can get a hold of. For example, Microsoft offers discounts of up to 75% off on certain games with the “Deals With Gold” system. This month Bioshock: The Collection is 75% off, and Vampyr is 50% off, and that’s just a couple of the dozens of video games that are on discount.
