CCP has announced the week-long celebration for the spookiest time of year in New Eden, that’s right, it’s time to get some treats and play some tricks in EVE Online with the Halloween event. This in-game event brings login rewards for players logging in from downtime on October 28 to November 3, 2019. But the big change is that during this period, player ships will drop 100% increased loot when they explode.
As is usually the case with the CCP login events throughout the holiday, players can login to claim various rewards. And as is also the case, Alpha (free-to-play) and Omega (Subscribers) will have tiered rewards. Alpha players get a few injections of 10,000 Skill Points and some free themed SKINs for their ships. Omega players can grab 50,000 skill points, and some extra premium SKINs. The SKINs are a mix of a new Halloween Horrors set and the Deathglow Hunters SKINs.
More Treats for Everyone
The increased loot drop rate is great for everyone. All ships now drop a ton more loot, which should increase the appeal both general PvP and gnaking, something that the hunters of New Eden seem to be celebrating. What this means is that any player ship killed in PvP or PvE encounters will drop everything it has, increasing the payoff for killing ships drastically. CCP has claimed that the move is to gather data, but the community seems nonplussed in some areas.
New Skins in the Store
Accompanying the Halloween event is a thematically fitting SKIN line called ‘Malagrin Marshlight’. The skins are animated with an eerie green glow and are, as such, classed as premium skins. The skin is available for a variety of ships at the premium’s skin high price point:
