Forza Horizon 5 is getting a Hot Wheels expansion pack

Forza Horizon 5 is getting a Hot Wheels expansion pack, letting modern racing game fans jump onto the nostalgia bandwagon. Fans paying attention pointed to this eventuality happening last week, when a leak revealed the pack incoming on Steam. As spotted by Wario64, the Steam page for the game was updated with a new banner for a brief period. Though it was subsequently removed, the image briefly seemed to reveal the expansion.

Playground Games has been tuning the game a fair bit since launch. The game always gets tons of new content in the form of both cars and game modes. Tracks also commonly get dropped in as well. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this happen. Back in 2016’s Forza Horizon 3, the second expansion was also Hot Wheels-themed. So that means we’re returning to that well for more cars and tracks.

Elsewhere in last night’s Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, plenty of other games got announced or teased. Though overshadowed by bigger news, it’s still nice to see the racing game get some attention.

The new expansion pack will introduce even more cars, because of course it will. All of the cars, 10 in total, will be themed after the iconic toy brand. There are shiny new chassis like the 2021 Hennessey Venom F5 and the iconic 2000 Hot Wheels Deora II.
