E3 2020 is featuring pretty heavily in the news for video games today. As more and more gamers and analysts wonder what this Summer will look like for the games industry, people have started digging. And now, we have some new concrete information to report. A new leak has been spotted that could suggest big gaming news for this year.
Users over on ResetEra have spotted just what everyone was looking for, a confirmed list of attendees at E3 2020. This list includes many of the big-name publishers and developers we would expect, but quite a few are noticeably absent. Sony and Nintendo have already confirmed that they will be skipping E3 2020. And industry icon Geoff Keighley confirmed today that he was skipping the event as well. Microsoft is the only one of the big three console names that have confirmed they are attending E3 2020.
The loss of so many big names at E3 over the last couple of years has led to many within and without the industry to question its relevance as a barometer for hype and consumer demand. More and more companies are switching to internal marketing and closed-door trade meetings to hype their games for distribution, and the ESA has been struggling as a result.
The list of attendees could change, so take the list below with a grain of salt. Also, just because a company is on this list doesn’t mean they’re going to be onstage or shown on streams of the convention. The list could also change, we will try to update it if that happens.
