Can You Get Ditto in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

How to get Ditto in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

There are a lot of us older Trainers out there in the world of Pokémon which hold a special place for the 1st generation of monsters. The original adventures of Ash, Pikachu and Co. will always be quite the journey that we all remember fondly. So as new generations got introduced, a lot of us found ourselves pining for those previous years. And that’s strangely just as true now it would see with Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The game may have reset the timeline, but a lot of trainers want those classic rosters back.

But then there’s the added complications of later games. As breeding for shiny hunting became a common practice, the Masuda method came into existence. Being added in later generations, the trick drastically increases the chances of a shiny variant hatching from eggs. The method relies on using a Ditto from a different region, along with the Pokémon you want to get a shiny of. So now, a ton of Trainers want a Ditto. So, can you get Ditto in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

Unfortunately, it seems as you just can’t get the prized Gen 1 Normal-type in this game. The timelines likely have something to do with this, it’s possible that the Ditto hasn’t been uncovered yet in the world of Pokémon Legends: Arceus.  Unfortunately, you won’t be finding any Ditto in the Hisui region. Ditto is not included in Hisui PokéDex. The same goes for many classic options that many of us grew up with.

Breeding isn’t a feature in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, so there’s very little reason to have Ditto in the game. Most Trainers never used Ditto in battle, probably because of their relatively weak moveset.

Other rare and prized Pokémon from previous gens aren’t in the games either, it seems. Nintendo has yet to announce any DLC plans for the game, which would likely include expansions of the Pokédex. So until that changes, we’re not going to see these Gen 1 utility options, nor the legendaries, for the most part. There’s one notable exception though, as the Space Time Distortions do sometimes include monsters from previous generations. You can get both rare spawns and items inside these endgame zones.
