Where to find the Mossy Rock in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus Overview Trailer

With a much more unique approach to gameplay and item management in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the game has some very confusing twists in store for long-time franchise fans. The new systems can be pretty confusing, so here’s some help if you need it.

Like previous games, evolution items are back. With this new game, there’s a lot to manage, as Trainers have a more obtuse evolution system to tackle. Trade Evolutions are back again, requiring some backtracking to get a full dex. In order to actually perform the various Evolutions in Pokémon Legends Arceus, you’ll need the necessary item, and that can be kind of hard. But unlike other Evolution items, this one is a bit unique.

Where to find the Mossy Rock in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

If you want to collect every Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you need to put some effort in. And with all of the various Evolutions you need to work through, there’s a lot to do. The evolution items often come in two flavors. Some need to be held, like in the previous games. But with this Switch title, there’s a new dimension. You sometimes need to head to certain spots on the map and trigger the evolutions standing next to a certain power source or special location.

So not only do you need to trigger evolutions manually, but you also need to do them in certain spots.  The Mossy Rock can be found near the Heartwood. You won’t be able to access this area until you have unlocked the second part of the Obsidian Fieldlands.

If you want to get Leafeon, you need to head to this location. The Leaf Stone can also be used for some evolutions as well, but this is just for Leafeon. Just like with Eevee’s Ice-type variant, Glaceon, players can evolve Eevee into Leafeon in Pokémon Legends Arceus in two different ways, by either using a Leaf Stone or evolving them while standing close to a Moss Rock. Evolve your Eevee while standing close to it to finish this whole process out.

The biggest advantage of doing it the manual way is that you won’t have to spend Merit Points on a Leaf Stone. You can then save those Points for other items.
