Call of Duty: WWII has launched it’s newest in-game event for the FPS with a “Days of Summer” event. In this new event, as we see from the trailer, it’s all about a certain kind of fun in the sun.
The big star of the trailer is a F$#%@!# Sandbox, “The Sandbox” is exactly what the name implies, being that’s it’s a literal sandbox to play in. And by play, we mean you take on the role of a toy soldier blasting their way through Green or Tan enemies in a mode that feels like a direct callback to the old Army Men 3D games. So if you wanted a modern Call of Duty game mode where you’re diving between wooden alphabet blocks for cover, this event has you covered.
Along with the new mode, there’s lots of other themed content as well. A trove of new camos and other skins to deck out your avatars and weapons are also front and center in this new wave of content. But aside from new cosmetic options, players also have three new weapons to blast away with; the 3-line sniper rifle, the automaton, and an SMG called the ribeyrolles.
