The Division 2 has a ton of different paths for end-game progression and grinding, and one of them is the World Tiers that are to the open-world festival of PvE and PvP in the game. And now, those options are about to get even more diverse and difficult with the introduction of a new patch next week.
The Tidal Basin content update looks to expand the offerings in the end-game by adding in Tier 5, another level of difficulty. World Tiers are unlocked after completing the main story and taking on that final Stronghold. Once you start at Tier 1, the Black Tusks faction moves into town and you’re moved into a much more dangerous and chaotic D.C. landscape.
As you complete various missions and take on both PvP and PvE challenges, you’ll unlock more loot. This loot will in turn increase your gear level, making you more powerful overall, and able to take on more complex content as you move up in Tiers. And by the way, there will now be an option to repeat previously completed Strongholds for the chance at more loot. The game is also getting a new Heroic difficulty mode which makes everything that much harder. So in short, you’ll have plenty of content to farm for that all-important loot.
And of course, these new additions aren’t the only thing being added to The Division 2, the game is also getting a new Raid. The first of these end-game challenges in The Division 2 will apparently be called “Dark Hours”. The new gameplay loop is based on the iconic Arlington Memorial Bridge and will act as a major challenge for those who have ground out a decent enough gear level. Three new gear sets are also up for grabs: the True Patriot, Ongoing Directive, and Hard Wired, and these can be unlocked by completing various challenges.
There are two difficulty tiers in the Raid, one that starts at 550 gear score, and another that starts at 590 gear score for a more challenging experience.
Check out the trailer for the new Raid down below. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 was released earlier this month on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. Of course, this just the beginning of post-launch content for this looter-shooter. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is getting at least three more major content drops over the next few months. Tidal Basin will be available as part of the Invasion: Battle for D.C. update on April 5th.
