The basics of catching in Bugsnax are pretty straightforward. There are 100 different types of Bugsnax in the game, and your goal is to catch all of them. Most are pretty simple, you just need to find them. Some more rare spawns are harder to locate. With that in mind, let’s talk about some basic tips for the game and where to look to find the cute little bugs.
The game’s Bugpedia will track some basic information about each one you find, so keep that in mind and refer back to it. You will be able to refer back to it at any time. Some snax are pretty easy to find and catch. Then there are Bugsnax like Spuddy, you need to have certain lures out to capture these. Spuddys really seem to like ketchup. Drop some of that down when you spot one and they will rush right for it.
There’s also their behavior to think about. Some of these bugs will just run away. Others are very territorial and need to be handled a certain way. Going back to Spuddy, you will notice that they’re very territorial and love to charge at you. If you can get them to charge into a wall and stun themselves, they’re much easier to grab onto. You just have to learn which of these bugs are more aggressive than others and take advantage of that.
