To actually even have a shot at this, you’re going to need some Nook Miles. Use these at Tom Nook to head to a resource island. These randomly spawned tiny islands are basically a treasure hunt in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Players go there and are given a random tileset with a set loot table, which they can explore to their heart’s content. Once you get lucky and hit on a resource island with Bamboo, start digging. Look for the cracks in the ground, some of these will spawn Bamboo Shoots, which can be taken back to your main island. Plant these on your island and after a few days, they will grow into bamboo stalks that you can cut for the bamboo you need to craft with. This can take a lot of work, so if you get a lucky roll, bring back as much of the stuff as possible.
And when you’re cutting the stalks on your own island, remember two things. For one thing, never cut down all the bamboo stalks on your own island. You don’t want to have to go through the grind of getting the right resource island again. Secondly, always have a basic stone axe or flimsy axe on-hand when cutting Bamboo. Using a Metal Axe on Bamboo will cut the whole tree down, you don’t want that.
You can also get a friend who has already done this to trade you some of the rare resource, but not everyone has that luxury.

Upgrading Resident Services is the first step to getting these items en masse. Once that happens, you will see Tom Nook start trading various new goods, each one having its own use.

You can get 500 miles for free when you first open the app. Use these to get an easy 3,000 Bells. The Nook Miles app is also one of the primary sources for the Tickets. As you use your phone, various alerts will pop up on it, claim these alerts in the phone to gain 300 Tickets each time.
You can also redeem your Nook Miles on other things, like Bell Vouchers for easy currency in the game.
