Nook’s Cranny is a vital building in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This main shop is the center of commerce in your new towns. And even though the inventory refreshes pretty often, and there is a wealth of items to buy, you can unlock more. The easiest way to grab more stuff for the shop is to upgrade Nook’s Cranny to Nooklings in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Building Nook’s Cranny is one of the first tasks you get given as you’re building out your town infrastructure. Timmy will approach you about needing the shop to help support the growth of the island, and you will be asked to gather the needed elements for the new construction.

How to upgrade Nook’s Cranny to Nooklings
The upgraded version of the establishment offers a fair bit of different items for sale, and as you spend more Bells, the shop changes and upgrades its inventory. After all, it’s just like a real business inside your town. The more money you spend with Timmy, the more he invests back into his shop and by extension the town itself.
The biggest boon from hitting up the shop regularly is that as you buy items from it, the game will reward you with the opportunity to upgrade the shop. Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are used to trade for pretty much everything, as they are the main currency of the Animal Crossing world, and you’re going to need a lot of them.
It’s not clear yet just how much money Timmy needs before he procs the upgrade though. It will happen some time though. As long as you are playing through the game, and spending Bells at Nook’s Cranny, it will eventually upgrade to Nookling’s automatically.
