Street Fighter V: Champion Edition is the latest iteration of the fighting game evolution that debuted in 2016 as the ultimate culmination of Capcom’s attempts to build the ultimate fighting game. Over the last few years Capcom has been pretty good about adding new features and content to Street Fighter V. The developer has introduced many new fighters, stages and other additions as DLC. And concerning, Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, Capcom will add a second character to the roster along with Gill. That announcement will come closer to release.
There has been some controversy over the way the company has handled said DLC. One particular sore spot was the inclusion of unskippable ads in-game, as well as a bunch of skins which were also just ads. Capcom later pulled the ads after backlash.
There is some really good news though for long-term fans. The PlayStation 4 and PC versions will also get cross-play functionality to enable cross-platform play. Capcom is adding the feature to unite the pools to make finding matches easier, in a an attempt to “continuing to unite fans into a unified player base.”
