Star Citizen: Around the Verse - Austin Texas Cakewalk

Sandi Gardiner and Chris Roberts are back this week with another Around the Verse video, with a whole lot of Star Citizen news and segments.

A lot of the focus this week is on player gatherings, creations and events since we’re so close to CitizenCon for this year. It’s really cool to see all of the things fans and players of Star Citizen have created to celebrate their hype and love of the game CIG is trying to build. The 3D-printed ship models and other goodies are really awesome.

We see more bits of gameplay and cinematics from CitizenCon as well, most of which we’ve already seen, but it’s a treat nonetheless. With the wrapup of CitizenCon 2948, CIG have really been working hard behind the scenes to deliver on a higher quality of experience throughout their game. We see a bit of footage of that ongoing work throughout this new ATV. For example, there’s some mocap shots of Henry Cavill running through his bits in Squadron 42.

Speaking of CitizenCon, there was a huge amount of new updates and footage for Star Citizen during the event. For one thing, we saw a bunch of new trailers for the singleplayer game, Squadron 42. Everything is looking really spiffy judging by the newest footage, and I can’t wait to see more of it. There’s also a bunch of new ships in the pipeline, specifically from Drake Interplanetary, Consolidated Outland and Anvil Aerospace. There’s new craft and variants like the Valkyrie and Kraken. Check those out over here.

To see more Star Citizen news, check out some of the other Around the Verse videos, or maybe you want to see some more Squadron 42 gameplay.

Check out the latest patch notes on the official site. Cloud Imperium Games has currently raised $198,317,889 from 2,110,801 backers overall. Looks like we’ve finally crossed that $195 million mark. In fact the game has blown past it and is on track to surpass an insane $200 million. I am really excited to see what the future holds for this ambitious as all hell game.
