The act of swiping left and right has become this strange cultural icon of the social elements of dating and the overall practice of making decisions within your social life. And now, there’s even a deceptively simple game that takes this same idea and creates an anachronism between it and the legendary fantasy book and TV series Game of Thrones.
Nerial and Devolver Digital’s Reigns; a medieval-themed title that forces the player to make increasingly difficult and dangerous decisions by swiping left or right depending on your choice. Reigns: Game of Thrones takes the core gameplay loop of the base game, and inserts a bunch of themes and story elements from popular fiction to appeal to a wider audience. We see plenty of familiar faces like those of Lord Tyrion, Queen Cersei, Sansa Stark and many more.
There’s also plenty of plot points that fans will recognize. Players will be forced to make choices over how to fight wars against opposing forces, manage their kingdom, and put down feudal squabbles between lesser lords.
