Total War: Warhammer 2 has been a pretty huge success for Creative Assembly. The recent strategy title took the wonderful formula from the first game and polished it to a near-perfect shine. Part of how the game has achieved success is the glut of free and paid DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2.
And coming soon, there’s one more piece of DLC coming to the strategy game. We don’t know much about it yet, but there are some details to go on. Based on previous DLC, we’re likely to see new units, some map changes, and possibly other bonuses with this last round of content. Other updates have introduced elements like the expanded Mortal Empires as a grand-scale downloadable campaign set across a massive new campaign map. Then there were DLC which included new units, maps and factions as part of the main campaign and skirmish modes.
These massive chunks of content packed plenty of flesh onto the bones of the game, offering plenty of replay value and a lot of new stuff to tinker with. And this trend will continue with the last three DLC packs. Said DLC are titled a Legendary Lord, an Old World update and “Some Old Friends” in the teaser image, alluding to new additions like units from the tabletop game, as well as map updates which will change the progression and balance of the campaign map, at least that’s the theory.
No release date has been set for this content, and we will have to wait for the full reveals, but it’s very exciting to see the 2017 strategy epic still going strong. The one sad element to this news is that this DLC bunch will be the last new content released for Total War: Warhammer 2. No confirmation yet that there will be another game in the franchise, but it’s still a possibility given the success of the previous two entries.
