Konami could be working on two new Silent Hill games

Konami

The rumors of a new game are constant in the games industry. One particular franchise of note that receives this hyped up rumor mill treatment is the legendary Silent Hill series. Since the highs of Silent Hill 2, the franchise has been on a bit of a downward slope in recent years in terms of quality. The cancelled revival that was spawned by the P.T. demo was a bright spot for fans, but little has been heard since then. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen rumors like this before.

The last rumor we heard about Silent Hill was that Konami was working on some new projects, but instead they were slot machines, instead of a new game in the franchise. Various rumors have sprung up before this, although they were quickly shot down. The Twitter user AestheticGamer, who has been correct with various leaks in the past, claimed earlier in the week that these rumors were actually on point this time.

Konami has been previously kind of mum on the rumors around their various franchises. Ex-Konami superstar designer Hideo Kojima has been teasing followers for a while on social media though. Many fans were hopeless when the news broke that  animosity between Kojima and Konami killed the P.T. project and led to Kojima leaving the company. And with Kojima now seemingly more interested in returning to games, fans are excited. Of course that project eventually became Death Stranding, which is out on PS4 and coming to PC.

When describing the new info, AestheticGamer says ” I’ll mention there is a couple new Silent Hill games in the works. Konami about two years ago reached out to various developers to pitch ideas for two Silent Hill games.” Going further, he suggested that one would be an episodic adventure. And fans will be really hyped if the other full reboot that follows the more traditional style of the previous games turns out to be correct.

No confirmation of any of this yet though, as this is all just rumors. Although there is some possibility that 2020 could see more news. “This is just a guess, but I’d say there’s a high chance one or both of those titles may be revealed this year,” says the leaker while speculating.
