Fahrenheit: 15th Anniversary Edition announced, coming January 26

Fahrenheit: 15th Anniversary Edition receives late January release date, PS4 exclusivity

Quantic Dream is known for some quite strange and heady video games. Their new project isn’t a new game though, sorry hardcore fans. Fahrenheit, otherwise known as the Indigo Prophecy is a heady game that was released during the PS2 and Xbox era that propelled the studio to new heights of awareness. The game stars Lucas Kane as he tries to unravel a mysterious plot involving angels, demons and possession. Dark magics are about, and Lucas finds himself caught in the middle.

The game would come to define the narrative style put forth by Cage and refined in future titles like Heavy Rain.  In that and the former game, the player swaps between multiple roles that alter the course of the story based on how you play and the choices you make. The overarching narrative is confusing but fun to untangle if you can get over the antiquated gameplay by modern standards. All in all, this is the best way to experience the game, with Fahrenheit: 15th Anniversary Edition coming to the PS4.

As the press release pus it, “This is the perfect opportunity to rediscover one of the first highly acclaimed titles from French developer and publisher Quantic Dream. For over two decades Quantic Dream, founded by industry visionary David Cage, is best known for their use of cutting-edge motion capture technology to create story driven interactive dramas”

Meridiem Games has been tasked with helping to port the game to the PS4. Not only will players get to experience the full height of all the madness that is the game in an updated visual style, there’s also going to be a special edition. Fahrenheit: 15th Anniversary Edition will include a full artbook as well as the console port.
