With a new trailer, there’s some pretty evil stuff on the way for Evil Genius 2: World Domination. The developer has announced a new Sandbox Mode coming to the game, as well as details about the game’s Deluxe and Collector’s Editions. This follow-up has been a long time coming, so it’s nice to see it making the rounds. Here’s what we know so far.
The Sandbox Mode in the game removes the objectives and story from the scenario-driven campaign and replaces them with a set system for random encounters. Sometimes, agents will show up to wreck your base. Other times, you will need to have your lair prepped for major disasters that befall your network of assets and informants. The depth of the mode is that you can alter your base design as you please, and it looks like it would be a ton of fun.
The announcement for the day also revealed that gamers looking to spend a little extra money can gain some bonuses. These are found within the Deluxe and Collector’s Editions of Evil Genius 2: World Domination.
The Deluxe will offer up the base game, the Fountain of Youth and Trojan Horse items for use in-game, as well as any future content release in Season Pass One. Yes, this game is getting a bunch of post-launch content. The post-launch content will include new units to staff your base, as well as an expanded campaign.
Also, if you pre-order, and happened to own the original game; you can get an extra 15% off via a Steam coupon.
The more pricey Collector’s Editions can be had with a collectible vinyl figure of posterboy evil genius Maximilian, as well as the content from the Deluxe version. The devs even throw in a full-print version of the Evil Genius Official Magazine.
As for the game’s Deluxe and Collector’s Editions; the Deluxe will offer up the base game, the Fountain of Youth and Trojan Horse items as well as the Aurora Borealis bonus item and the entirety of Season Pass One. The latter will include a bunch of post-launch content, including a campaign pack, two henchmen packs, two minion packs and a lair item pack with details to be revealed closer to launch.
